That's odd. They were in stock yesterday too. So either NVIDIA got a crap ton of product in, or the demand is really falling.

Tempting, but still waiting for the bottom to drop out.

I'm waiting for the next iteration of the GTX 1080, supposedly the price will be very reasonable and have a nice performance increase...

True stock was never the problem. It's been about people trying to capitalize on a craze. You have miners buying these cards up and then scalpers trying to cash in too. These 2 tornadoes create artificial shortages. Either way, I have been saying this in just about every 'video card deal' posted for the past 6 months. And, I'll say it again.

1 - Do not buy ANY video card over MSRP.
2 - There will be an influx of used cards on eBay. (Do not buy these either, these will be the cards used in mining rigs running 24/7.)
3 - Wait until they are back at MSRP by retailers, this will force the used card prices to drop another few dollars.
4 - Nvidia's 11 series will be out soon as well, which should help stabilize the market too.

At this point, you buy.

(Disclaimer - This is for gamers, not scalpers. If you are trying to hoard cards to turn a profit, go ahead and buy them over MSRP!)

"supposedly" is the key word here Alex. Here's my realistic and educated guess, from what I've seen in the past 1+ what with the mining craze and GPU scalpers: next iteration will be sold out immediately at MSRP 699 for a 1180/2180 (yes I sincerely believe Nvidia will up the MSRP for a xx80 level another hundred bucks because they can since AMD got nothing to compete with and people have shown through statistics that they are willing to pay that amount. You will still continue to have a terrible time getting the next iteration for a "reasonable price" I'm going to guess 1-2 years if not more if you're not willing to shell out $800-1000 on eBay for a $700 card. Good luck

While I agree with that you want gamers to do because I think it's silly how high the prices have reached, not having a working gaming computer for 6 months is a bit silly too. Whatever you pay, you would divide up by the amount of use and time you had it for and you'd get how much extra the card is worth to you. Utility and time are costs as well.

The fact that these cards are year old and Nvidia is about release new generation this summer, selling at retail price does not seems so slick. But well compare to 6-8 months ago, oh boy this does look tempting!!!!

Demand is probably dying down because crypto mining isn't as profitable as it was half a year ago. Nvidia's new product release will also drop these prices too.
