I had ordered this earlier today when i first saw the other post about the HD deal. I was going to post about it once I got a confirmation e-mail to make sure it worked. I never got an order conformation e-mail but I just got a shipment confirmation e-mail a few minutes ago.

I like that the refurbished version still has a 2 year warranty.

I think I'm going to cancel my order for the Greenworks dethatcher now.

Seems like a good deal, I have a tiny yard 500sqft that I would need to use this on, probably get one and just sell it after. I don't see myself using it more than once but you never know.

That a false statement. Dethatching is a must process at early spring and late fall. It help remove the extra thatch allowing air and fertilizer to get to the soil and the root. Many healthy lawn fail because they dont do the dethatch process. Owning a dethatcher is a must if you have a nice yard and care about how it looks.

Thatch is a layer of grass clipping deposits on top of your soil, think of thatch as a layer of mulch for your grass.

Thatch helps retain water and actually help your grass however too much of a layer would block sun, air, fertilizer or any nutrient to your soil. They say half an inch of thatch is healthy more than that you would ruin your grass root allowing weed and crab grass to invade. Dethatch process help get those extra thatch up.

Thanks for the xplanation. I have only used fabric/erosion blanket for growing grass in tough areas...and that has pretty much always worked
