Really, Really, Cheap (even Free) Small (capacity) USB/Flash Drive

575 213 May 24, 2018 at 04:04 PM
Anyone got any idea on getting really cheap (ideally free) small USB/Flash Drives?

Minimum size would be 64 MB (yes megabyte, not gigabyte)... So, anything larger than 64MB will work.

Yes, I can buy a SanDisk 16 GB for $5.09... but as this is SlickDeals.... I'm looking for cheaper than that. I would prefer not to buy from eBay sellers based out of china since you have no idea WHAT you are getting, in terms of real capacity and reliability.

A few (many?) months ago Walgreen was clearing out some of their memory stuff and had 16 GB USB Sticks for like $0.97... unfortunately, I don't have a time machine....

So, anyone know of any deals, promotions (i.e. promotional usb sticks), or ideas?

I need minimum of 2 of these. Ideally, identical "make" & "model".

Thanks!

This recent alert might be worth while as long as you aren't using it to constantly read & write:

$7 - $6 Rebate = $1 for 16GB REBURB (newegg/newegg flash & limit 1).

My need is for a bootable (flash) drive for a NAS, so it's write once and ready many. This would be good enough. Besides, the plan is to have a second flash drive with the exact same boot info, so if the flash drive fails during a reboot, I have a fairly quick recovery.
