Last time the NES classic was available saturation levels were just about reached... Product equaling demand. On this re-release demand will be hit since this is the 2nd time it is being released.

The fact that this item is still available for pre-order just shows that the demand has declined. It has been available for many hours now. Good news for people in the United States!

Don't over pay if you're in the US. You can get this for $60, just be patient.

Or, better planning. And less folks with deal alerts.

Not sure what you're smoking, but even after the announcement that they're being made again they're still selling for over $100 new on ebay (and over retail for a used one).

So either you're lying in the hopes that people won't buy them up as fast and you can get more to scalp, or you just don't have a clue what the market is like for these. They NEVER reached saturation. Not even close. That's why they're re-releasing it already.

That said...don't own one, don't plan on buying one, but given that it's been released once before, I would imagine that the patient out there will be able to get one from a US seller for retail price without any real hassle, just maybe not until later in the year.

The reason why they are selling for that amount now is because they haven't made any since last year. When they make them again they will be like the current SNES classic. Prove me wrong. Try selling an SNES classic. You'd be lucky to make $2 selling one.

True but production will be ending for both in 2018 unless Nintendo changes their minds again SmilieSmilieSmilie

I think the fad is over. They will sell out due to limited supply but not due to huge demand.

They need these off the shelves before 2019 gameboy or n64 mini releases.

Are we talking about the SNES Classic? No? Then what's your point?

Won't it be about the same price in the US after tax?

I wanted one of these originally but since Nintendo was playing games with a low number of units made I ended up getting a Raspberry PI and setting up a RetroPi.

The point is that Nintendo will make the same kind of quantity that we are seeing with the SNES classic with the re-release of the NES classic. They will saturate demand nicely this time around. It won't be hard to find just like the SNES classic. Get it now? nod

Is this going to have a European plug on it? Any potential compatibility issues in the USA?
