For those wondering, this is "Smart Compatible" but requires you to purchase the Aladdin Connect system which will run you another $90

Genie sucks with it's compatability to "universal" items like MyQ. For less than the price of this opener and the Connect system you could pickup the Chamberlain B970 which has WiFi and MyQ built-in
B970: $227.80 - ($20 off $100) = $207.80
Genie: $159.80 + $90 - ($20 off $100) = $229.80

What would you recommend for a second garage bay door opener if I buy the B970 for my main bay?

I only have 1 GDO, so I can't answer your question from experience.
I did find a thread here [chamberlain.com] that seems to talk about being able to add a second MyQ compatible system (I don't think WiFi integration is required) to the hub on your B970. I'd suggest reaching out to Chamberlain though to be sure.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Lowes, the Chamberlain model was on sale ended up going with that, comes built in with MyQ. 228 - 20(lowes coupon), $208 for a 1.25 hp belt drive. Learned that my garage has 8 ft door, so ended up needing a $50 extension Frown.
Love the opener, super smooth and quiet. In addition to MyQ, really like the keypad with the option for a temporary code.

Going to have a 3 car garage. Was looking at the B970, any reason to buy 3 of them, or can I buy 1 and then 2 cheaper "dumb" ones and link them to the B970?

Where do you get a B970 for $227? They are listed for much more than that right now at reputable stores.

Lowes had it on sale for $227 when my post was written. It's now back off sale (memorial day sale) to it's normal $268 price

FYI for those considering chamberlain's with built-in MyQ https://myqcommunity.chamberlain....-by-itself

MyQ requires you to pay a monthly/yearly fee to use it with IFTTT if that's something you intended to use.

If you have an older car (2008 or older) with the homelink buttons, those won't work with the new chamberlain openers without their homelink bridge. This doesn't appear to be a problem with the genies?

The aladdin connect box can control 3 individual openers (although you have to buy 2x more door sensors at $40 each which seems ridiculous), dunno if the built in MyQ can control other openers.
