How much better is sound quality on this Vs. the original ring doorbell. I know video quality is better. My ring doorbell always has a hissing sound...is that normal?

I haven't used the original Doorbell, but have the Pro, and then Spotlight Cam Wired and Battery models and none of them have hissing audio noise. The video should be higher resolution, and it offers fine grain motion zones (you can draw the maps of where you want to alert on motion instead of just the pre-defined zones).

Thanks for the info. I bought a 2 year warranty with best buy... wonder if they would let me upgrade instead of getting another original.

Got this recently. I only wished it had HDR/WDR and 4:3 aspect ratio. Would've considered Nest Hello but not down with high data use even on lowest setting.

All these require wires... is there a wire free one that's good quality? I was hoping the nest hello would be wire free but that as well needs wires....

The battery life of the original ring isnt great. Have to charge every couple of months and is worst during winters. I would recommend getting the wired setup or external power if possible.

Been on the fence between the Nest Hello and Ring Pro since the Hello came out. Price points are comparable, I like the 24/7 recording of the nest but not the data usage, but based on the reviews I've seen, the Ring Pro seems very quick to start recording on motion detection and seems to have faster alerts.

Anyone else that's made a decision between these two that may want to weigh on on their choice?

At best buy right now you can get the ring pro and chime pro for $200 together. It's a combo package.

I've been on the fence too but I think I'm going with the ring pro. The data usage and cost of the service plan for nest is high on both counts. Not to mention the longer motion alert delays and cool down interval between motion alerts. Basically after the doorbell has alerted you to motion, it won't alert you again for 15 to 30 minutes. This might not sound bad but if a delivery was just made and someone sees this and comes up 5 minutes later you won't get alerted to their motion. Of course there will still be video but an immediate notification would be good for alerting police immediately. Same for If you leave your house for work and someone who was waiting tries to break in within minutes after you leaving. So far nest has not offered solutions to this.
