I'm starting to get annoyed about how deals are presented in SD with the higher model name first in the title but the price reflected is the lower model's. Intentionally deceiving

55C7 is currently brand new in Amazon for $1300. Is the 55C8 worth $300 more. However I think the 55E7 for $1400 is best value among the three. The design is far superior and has a soundbar built-in.

Some minor upgrades from c7 to c8. Amazon will charge tax, tho. So only $200 difference

The C7 is at the bottom of their price range now. If I purchase the C8 today, I can make a price protection claim for another $500 within the next 60-90 days to get it down to $1100 with no sales tax or shipping.

Is $300 difference, is sold by other authorized retailers in Amazon, so no tax. Save $300 and go with the older model in my opinion. Or go with the superior E series

Which company or seller has it for $1100 that you want to use for price protection.

The prices for '08's are moving faster than any other year (for oleds).

Just my opinion but I'm curious to see where they settle out this year.

The only compelling factor to make a move right now is PP taking a dive on 6/1 Chase, 7/28 Citi. (Currently $500, $200 in the future).

Yep I went with one from Costco for 1,200 after PP . Can always return to Costco and upgrade to the C8 if I decide it's better in next 90 days and can keep the PP and possibly so another PP on C8 and have $500 from PP on C7. I don't mind paying a little extra to have the Costco option ( plus triple warranty )

65 OLED B7 is 1699. Why would anyone pay 2499. Does the new 8 series offer higher quality?

Is same picture quality, is just faster processor and few extras. Is not worth the extra money. Unless to those that want the latest and don't care about the cost.

Hopefully those who call for this incredible price on the C8 confirms that what they are buying is a brand new unused television and not a previous customer return or factory-refurbished model. Better to be safe than sorry. LG released their OLED televisions around April each year, the C8 in the 55" is a 2018 model that came out less than two months ago. It retails for $2499.99 new, however Best Buy had it this past week on sale for $2299.99.

In comparison when LG released the 55" C7 in April of 2017 it was $3499.99 from the start. It dropped down to $1699.99 in early November 2017. The C7 was rated the best OLED television on the market although Panasonic makes phenomenal OLED televisions however Panasonic has yet to return to the USA. My brother owns the LG C7 55" that he bought late last year and is quite happy with it.

Most people here probably would not be able to tell the differences between the C8 and the C7 model so if people are looking to save as much money as possible and they can find the C7 for cheaper, you may want to go with that, however those who will want the latest and greatest (and the improvements made to the C8 are quite nice) should consider the C8 because at $1599.99 if the television is indeed a brand new factory-sealed model is an amazing price and in my opinion worth the extra few hundreds of dollars if people can afford it.

I got this TV when it was $1699, I can confirm that the TV is brand new, and comes well packaged.
