Seems to be a decent deal for light work. Looking for something for my wife's grandmother.
My wife's uncle does all of the heavy stuff, the grandmother still likes to get out and do a bit of cleanup around her floral beds.

What kind of crappy charger are they throwing in with this? Looks worse than the old grey/back slow charger. Anyone know how much worse?

Specs say "Overnight charger". I personally wouldn't use it ever if you have an intelligent charger

I would NEVER use one of those mini chargers. Both myself and my father in law had batteries die and we coincidentally both had those chargers. Needless to say we both threw them away.

Looks like the kind of charger that isn't smart enough to turn itself off when the battery is fully charged, thus destroying your battery over the course of the season

Regional? I'd jump on this but it's not showing up in my area.

Wow tough crowd, I'd be happy with 2 useful tools for $70. I have been using previous Ryobi set for 3 years with 4ah batteries (2 for $99 I think) for an end unit townhouse, and very happy with its usefulness, reliability and light weight. These are no where close to what a 40V or a gasser can do, but who wants to mess around with a gasser on a hot, muggy day. I would recommend getting the 3ah battery (2 with charger, plus a free Ryobi bare tool for $99 total), as well as changing over to the neon twisted trimmer line (instead of the standard blue).

they haf a similar sale for $1 less, had a slightly smaller battery, but better charger. The blower was different, but they are both pretty much pavement blowers

What am I missing? Comes up $99 for me, available for in-store pickup or home delivery, but none of the stores around me have it in stock.

It shows $99 for me too online. I called my local central Calif. Home depot and they had a stack of them at the front entrance for $69.88. These daily deals should be better marketed.
