Seems like we are losing benefits everywhere, first it was Chase now Citi...even small things like roadside assistance are getting cut, this reeks of recession coming good old-fashioned greed to me. (Edited - Some commenters think it's extreme to call it like it is)

ORIGINAL MESSAGE RECEIVED 5/26/2018
Important changes are coming to some of your Shopping and Travel Benefits

Hi We wanted to let you know about some upcoming changes to the benefits for your Citi® Double Cash Mastercard® card. Effective July 29, 2018.

Roadside Assistance Dispatch Service and Travel & Emergency Assistance benefits will be removed, and you will no longer be eligible to use these benefits effective July 29, 2018.

For purchases made on or after July 29, 2018:

•Worldwide Car Rental Insurance: Program coverage won't apply to charges or expenses for the loss of use of the rental car, rental agency fees, or taxes.

•Trip Cancellation & Interruption Protection: You may be reimbursed up to a maximum of $1,500 per trip and $5,000 per calendar year. Please note, coverage will be limited to you and your family members. For updated coverage terms, see the Covered Reasons section for this benefit in your Guide to Protection Benefits.

•Damage & Theft Purchase Protection: You may be covered for up to $1,000 per incident for 90 days from the date of purchase or delivery of the item purchased with your card. Please note, coverage provided by this benefit will be secondary (meaning if you have another insurance policy, this benefit will cover only the amount your other policies do not). Coverage won't include firearms, ammunition, jewelry, watches, tires or items that are under the care and control of a third party including, but not limited to, the U.S. Postal Service, airlines, or delivery services.

•Citi Price Rewind: You may be reimbursed up to a maximum of $200 per item and $1,000 per calendar year. Program coverage won't include consumables, tires, watches, firearms, or ammunition. You won't be reimbursed if the lower priced item is found at a warehouse club where the merchant requires a membership fee.

•90 Day Return Protection: Program coverage won't include firearms, ammunition, tires, jewelry, furniture or appliances.

View the complete coverage details that will be effective July 29th, including coverage limits, what's covered and what's not covered by clicking the link below. You can also call -- The given link is broken --. The terms in your current Guide to Protection Benefits will still be applicable for purchases made with your card before July 29th – visit cardbenefits.citi.com.

Anybody used Citi's Return Protection for a firearm?

Were you required to ship it to Citi?

For the Price Rewind, aside from the lower limits, was this part always there: "You won't be reimbursed if the lower priced item is found at a warehouse club where the merchant requires a membership fee."?

I remember submitting rewinds for Costco.com and they had no issues with it. Not sure if I got lucky or if this is the change.

Sad to see tires go for rewind. Came in handy when the dealer over charged me the "only" tires they had in stock. And Citi matched Sam's club, which is out too it looks like.

IMO, this is the best card out there for cash back. 2% is better than anything else out there as far as I know...

Yeah, USAA has a 2.5% back Visa. And you get it all upfront, not half when you buy and half when you pay. Best card I know of that is all day, everyday, on every purchase. But you do have to be a USAA member, so there is that restriction but if you're a member it's a great card.

in most cases: Citi Double Cash

2% back

very good Extended Warranty (extra 2 years for manufacturer warranties up to 5 yrs)

decent Purchase Protection, Price Protection & Return Protection

BUT

Use a different card for either auto rentals or large purchases (No Loss of Use Coverage; Purchase Protection capped @ $1k. Trip Cancellation/Interruption capped @ $1.5k)

Don't cancel. Just don't use them. Keeping your credit limit open will help your score utilization. That's what I intend to do.
