Just to let every one knows you MAY need to buy 3 other items to work, a $130 idatalink Maestro RR adapter, a dash kit and a $20 harness in my case, a back up camera plus installation.

In for one, thanks OP. I ordered this from Amazon about 3 hours ago for $90 more. That one cancelled and this order placed.

Now I just gotta decide which wire harness to go with...in researching for my 2010 Toyota Camry w/o Nav w/ JBL, it looks like Idatalink Maestro RR is probably the *best* way to go, but is about $170 for the harness+the maestro itself. PAC makes a harness that looks like it will work at $85 but has less stellar reviews. I'm also going to pick up a reverse cam, the adapter to let me use factory USB port, and of course the dash kit.

Opinions?

Try to get the idatalink ~100 on ebay and get separate harness for ~30-40.

Hey guys! I do not understand anything about replacement interface. I was just looking for a descent unit that can play media and has Apple CarPlay. I may not be using all the features that this unit has to offer. Is it still worth it? Will it work without idatalink?

look at crutchfield...they have a thing that will list different sets of equipment you would need to install in your specific vehicle and which features each set of equipment would allow you to retain...just don't buy from them as their install gear is expensive...especially if you aren't buying the head unit from them.

Depending on your vehicle, if you are not worried about things like retaining steering wheel controls etc, you may be able to get away without spending more than $50 on install gear. Possibly as low as ~$30.

I want to retain all of the steering wheel controls, the factory Sirius XM tuner, the factory USB port, add a backup camera, etc. My install gear is going to run around $170 it is looking like right now. That is for idatalink+wiring harness, reverse camera, dash kit, usb harness

For some reason I had missed the $100 maestro's on ebay. I am looking at them now. Thanks for making me look closer. That's probably the route I'm going to go. I planned on sleeping, then this notification popped and now I've been up for another 90 minutes, lol.

All ordered. $400 almost on the nose for everything using an idatalink setup. 24 hours ago I expected to spend that just on the head unit. Thanks again KhaB and tDames.

Sorry for waking you up. I got mine from amazon for $99 half year ago, it is now $121. This one is $99 on ebay but I am not sure about the seller. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/...1912159427

edit: this sonicelectronix is actually a good seller. I bought some of the harness from them. They have good CS. if you worry about return shipping fee, use paypal!

I installed this on my 2011 prius 1 month ago. I bought from crutchfield, with pac rp4.2-ty11, dash kit, xm radio, etc. costed me $600 total. I installed myself. This 7704s is great. Android auto worked great, it can connect to two phones at same time through bluetooth.
Need to mention 2 things. First is about the 2 usb extention cables come with the unit, they can't provide charge more than 500mA. I bought a flush extention port from amazon, now my samsung phone can show rapid charge status on kenwood screen. 2nd is about backup camera, the warning screen during start up sometime will interrupt the camera screen, annoying.
