I had a charcoal grill for years and used it only a handful of times each year
. Fast forward to last year I bought a cheap camping gas grill and used it multiple times a week all months but winter. The difference for me was in the time and convenience, I could go from a cold grill to a cooked meal with the gas grill in a fraction of the time it took for charcoal.

Are you willing to sacrifice a little quality for convenience? Gas is faster, cleaner, and just plain easy. Charcoal tastes better of course, but takes a while to heat up properly and a pain to clean up after each use.

I bought this on clearance last year for $100, I've had nothing but issues with it. Sometimes, I can't get it heat up past 325, which is really annoying. It's already beginning to rust (I live in California Bay Area), will probably replace it in another year, and buy quality. If you're looking for a cheap grill to last a year or two, this is okay.

I would really like to hear other opinions on Coal vs Gas. In the market and trying to decide.

Gas, unless you plan to smoke meat.

A real man uses charcoal
If you have the time and energy...sure. Most of us just wanna toss a steak on and not wait for the warm up time or deal with the cleanup for charcoal.
