Beware of LG refrigerators. Bought a LG frig from Costco in 2016. Had the 2 years warranty on it but crapped out 2 years and 2 months in so have no warranty coverage from Costco. However I bought the frig on Chase Visa Freedom and they extend the warranty for an additional year. Technically that should cover the repairs however I am finding out that Costco 2 year warranty is falsely advertised!

The warranty card that came with the LG frig states 1 year warranty. When I called Costco to check to see if the 2 year warranty policy/documentation is supposed to come from LG or from Costco and no one can answer me. Even though what's advertised from Costco website says "2 years manufacture warranty".

I haven't placed a claim with Chase Freedom card yet because I was trying to get documentation on the stated 2 year warranty. Costco CSR is telling me that you get the 1 year from LG and Costco extends an extra year. From what I read with the Chase Visa, the rule is that they extend warranty from the original manufacture warranty policy that would mean if you purchased the product from Costco on CC that is not Costco Citi, you actually just negated the extended warranty offer from the CC.

Has anyone ran into this issue as well?
