Geforce Now can be activated free of charge at Nvidia Shield devices. Nvidia seems to be making some changes to the service in the upcoming months and has decided to remove the $7.99 subscription for now.

Nvidia has not disclosed until when this service will remain free.

Would only really get GeForce now for PUBG, but it seems like PUBG isn't on the shield.
I don't think it'd be viable, it's too integrated into the Steam marketplace.

On top of that I dunno if online shooters are viable on a game streaming service just because of the minor input lag. That on top of using a controller and you'd not be having a good time in PUBG.

What all does GeForce now on a shield allow you to do that you couldn't do by streaming from a local gaming PC?

Since GeForce now is free, I'm assuming you still need to pay for a GeForce now copy of a game, right? You can't use a license from steam, or something?

So all Geforce Now does is that it streams from your gaming pc to the tv? Doesnt Steam have a device that can do that too?

I think I had read it will become potentially more expensive if you play it a lot. It may turn into an on demand service you pay by the hour. This may be a trial run for that, potentially a couple hours free each month.

GeForce Now was not free. They charged $7.99/month and it is a gaming cloud service. Games run in Nvidia's Cloud and are streamed to your device at 1080p 60fps. There is no need for keys, installation or local storage, everything is remote.

The service that allows you to stream your own games from the PC to the Shield is called Gamestream. There you do need a copy of the game installed on your PC and run it locally on the PC. Video streams to your Shield.
