Office Depot has JBL E50BT headphones on clearance for $44.94. Brickseek showed zero in stock, they had 2 in stock locally. Saw it when I was buying a printer on clearance that also showed zero stock.

Brickseek link:

Your mileage may vary. As stated before brickseek showed zero stock but the store had them. The guy at office depot said once it goes on clearance it is removed from inventory which is why it shows not in stock.

As a different "guy at Office Depot" I can say that the guy who told you once it is clearanced out, they remove it from inventory was either lying or just freaking clueless. It goes on clearance but stays in inventory, then if it's still not selling through (monitored by inventory counts) corporate will release another markdown, and another and another until ultimately if they do not sell they are returned to the vendor or destroyed.

As a guy at OD, why is this on 4th level clearance at $44.94 when the MSRP is $149.99?

I thought 4th level was usually like 90% off (i.e. $14.94). Are there ever additional 4th level clearance markdowns or is that a store discretionary thing?

That is a good point, but it's not always the case from what i've seen. These have been clearance for just about 2 years now. As Brickseek shows it's only in stock at 6% of locations. I've seen things on 4th markdown that aren't 90% before and things at 3rd markdown that are.....when we finally get air conditioning turned on for more than the amount of time to take the store down 2 degrees maybe I'll care enough to figure that out lol

Also there are indeed higher markdowns than the 4th one. It is a case by case thing.

That sucks about the AC, but thanks for answering! I know things changed up a bit after the OD/OM merger in regards to clearance scheduling. It seems like it takes a lot longer for things to reach higher level markdowns (.93 / .94). Is there a specific day to check for changes? (i.e. Monday or Friday)
