This is actually quite helpful for me as I have quite a few Amazon Gift Cards stockpiled. Thank you for posting. I know it's not the cheapest out there but the retailer makes a difference for me.

Is the 2018 model worth the price premium? Or should I wait till the 2017 model hits rock bottom?

I'd maybe wait until 4th of July now. This TV could've been had for a little over $800 2 days ago on Memorial day if you did some legwork. Might be worth it to see if anything comes back for the 4th

Not at $2500+ it isn't. Not even close.

Credit card price protection makes this $1395. If using Citi Price Rewind or the like, you don't need the price to be $1699 since the price match sites that are common are usually $1299 or $1399. So an $1895 price still gets you the tv for $1395 or $1399 after credit card price protection. So in essence, if one is price matching, the $1699 price doesn't give a big advantage over $1899 unless you have a price match site that is less than $1399.
Can you please point out for me a site that is showing a low price like 1299/1399? I'd LOVE to use Citi rewind for this, but have never done so and would like to know going in that I have a chance to make that happen!! MANY THANKS!

Anywhere that Discover will PP ? I just ordered one from Amazon, but are there any PP dealers that Discover will take?

You explanation is a complete BS. 1700-500=1200 will price protection. With Amazon deal 1850-500=1350 plus $156 tax.
