This looks like a nice upgrade for my old Casio 8 megapixel. Thanks OP!

Has anyone played around with this? 60$ for a camera that has an 8x optical zoom, anti-shake, a pretty good ISO range, AND will beam the photos right to your camera seems like a really good deal. With all the shots I take with my phone, I'm seriously tempted.

I've been wanting a little point and shoot! As a pro- photog I skip the camera bc ugh it's just too big and too expensive to risk taking on a personal outing. I've vowed to start taking more personal images, and this deal is exactly what I needed!!

Bought it - I always jump on these when they pop up. I have a T3i, but these are much more practical to take places and if you lose/break it, no big deal @ 60 bucks. Basic camera with 720p video, so use it for what it's meant for - a quick point-and-shoot. I got a similar Canon refurb for $50 about 6 months ago that I leave at work and it's great.

Per pcmag

PROS

8x zoom lens. Slim, pocketable design. SnapBridge for seamless wireless photo transfer. Very affordable.

CONS

Few manual control options. Low-res LCD. 720p video without autofocus. So-so image quality. Proprietary charging port.

BOTTOM LINE

The Nikon Coolpix A300 packs a long zoom lens into a slim, affordable camera with wireless connectivity, but its image and video quality disappoint.

Nikon Coolpix A300 Verdict

If you have a good smartphone, with a 12mp sensor, and a bright lens, then it's quite likely that your photos will be better than photos taken with the Nikon Coolpix A300 at the wide-angle setting. As the A300 uses a 20mp CCD sensor, images show high levels of noise, and poor levels of detail. In fact there's no more detail in images than a good 12mp smartphone, or an average 16mp camera. However, one thing that the A300 has going for it, is the 8x optical zoom lens, and easy connectivity to your smartphone. For places where you might not want to take an expensive smartphone, the A300 provides a reasonable alternative.

If you can find it for less that £109 then it is could be considered reasonable value for money, however there are many others available for less without Wi-Fi. If your budget stretches, then the WX220 is much better.

Nikon Coolpix A300 Pros

Compact metal body
Available in different colours
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC built-in
8x optical zoom lens
Optical Image stabilisation
A number of effects

Nikon Coolpix A300 Cons

Lacks orientation sensor
Only 720p video
Non-standard USB
Noise in images
Disappointing image quality
Slow focus at times

No doubt that the new phones have amazing cameras, but I still prefer to use a camera, for so many reasons...

Mainly because I am always running out of space on my phone.
When i am using my phone record or shoot pics, I cant use my phone.
worst thing is getting a call when I am vloging or trying to capture a moment. So frustrating.
Not sure if the cam in the OP is any good for vlogging, probably good for someone who is starting out, if you like it, you can always upgrade.

Good luck.

I remember getting a refurbished Nikon S7000 from same retailer for $80 back in 2015 and also purchased 2 more later on for about $60ea, so this deal is cold as as ice. Don't know why camera prices are much higher than 3 years ago?
