Is the only difference the case? These are only 130. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...1WdKBg7vWL

What is different about the special edition?

The Tan-Black version is $132 - wonder if it is comparable?

Found the answer:

Question:
What's the difference between the backbeat pro 2 and the special edition?
Answer:
In my research, there are only 3 differences
1. The Special Edition is gray as you see in the picture here and the non-SE is brown in color. I haven't seen/touched the non-SE one to see if there is any difference in quality of the material besides the color difference
2. The SE has the NFC pairing for android, in addition to regular bluetooth pairing
3. The SE model comes with a semi-hard case vs a cloth "bag"
For my travel needs, I felt the "hard" travel case would work better and I do like the case that my SE came with

the special edition, it looks much sharper and smaller than backbeat pro 2, same sound quality!!!

using these right now (non-special edition). I love them. Only complaint is that they're a bit small. I have a larger head and they compress my ears a bit. I've had them almost 6 months now and they've loosened up a bit.

Battery life is good, sound quality is as good as you can expect over Bluetooth; no latency at all, and very good when wired. I like the look of them quite a bit too.

I'm mostly focused on sound quality. Also not sure the SE is worth the extra 30 bucks. These are very well reviewed.

I'm very pleased with the sound quality of mine. I use them exclusively on long plane flights and they're very comfortable.

I have these and the sound quality is decent. The battery life is amazing though. The ANC is so/so. I do a lot of work in data centers and they do an okay job of blocking out the sound from running equipment but they are no where near as good at noise cancelling as some of my co-workers Bose or Sony head phones. That said, they are also much cheaper and I think they are worth the price of $150.

Also, for what it's wroth, I have the SE because traveling so much I wanted the hard case. I also think the grey looks much better. These are already not (in my opinion anyway) the best looking head phones and the brown really just wasn't doing it for me.

What would you equate the sound quality to?

I have the first version of these. Has great noise cancelling, are comfortable and sound great. BUT the controls stopped working after a year. The volume up and down still work, but the play buttons and stuff on the left side don't work anymore.

Can someone please suggest a pair of on-ear (or in-ear) headphones with crystal clear microphone so it is "almost" indistinguishable whether you are on the phone or using a headset, and microphone does a decent job with dropping the non-vocal sounds? All headphones mostly focus on audio quality and no one talks about call-quality.

How about this one?

Thank you.

If you're looking for call quality then these are not it (I own a pair). I've been looking for the same thing in a pair of wireless headphones and the closest I've found have been the Sony WH1000X2 (not the X1). I can actually have a conversation on those without having to raise my voice as others force me to. The person on the other side will still hear some background noise but its better than others. It seems that without the "arm" that headsets have, background noise is inevitable on these type of headphones.

They're good and heavy on bass. Very good mid-range and clear highs. I havent cared about headset deals from Bose or whoever is popular these days if that says anything.
