I own the monitor and have had it for about 6 months - it is a workhorse. I can open up so many windows and not have to worry about a second monitor. I think I actually prefer it this way.

For work it's great - I don't think this resolution would play nice for gaming though.
I have had it for over a year and half as my primary gaming pc monitor and its very good. The ultrawide aspect ratio really helps you see more of the playing field and it is fun to watch movies too. There will be a black. Box around the screen but an extension for chrome helps change aspect ratios for netflix, youtube, what have you. This is a good price for this monitor, considering I got it for almost 175 dollars a year and half back.

An online screen size calculator says that a 25" 2560x1080 screen is only 9.7" in height. Is that right?
That sounds tiny. The dimensions are deceiving.

It's a bit small, you might want to consider the 29" version
I recently got the 29 inch version and love it. In fact, I think that I should have gone for a bigger one. It's not a big monitor, just wide.

I bought some 25" ultrawide monitors, and I was immediately disappointed with how short the monitors were... Ended up returning them and buying a couple regular 25" monitors, and I'm much happier.

Placed an order then got an email from NewEgg saying it was cancelled during the verification process. Anyone get this or know what it means?

I been looking for a monitor for a while and finally pulled the trigger on this one. I always seem to have too many screens to alt tab through and not enough monitor space so this should help out.

Just gonna mention my usual.

First the bezel. It looks like there isn't a bezel, but the screen doesn't actually go to the edge of the bezel. There are thin black bars on sides and top.

Secondly. My monitor started having a glitch in the first year under warranty. They fixed it in relative quick manner.

2 years after that (3 years after purchase) it started happening again.

I'm not saying all LG monitors will fail like mine, but I won't purchase one again unless it comes with a hella price and a longer warranty. I bought this one for $100 on Black Friday or something about 3 years ago.

Have 2 units for office work. Have 2 1920x1080 monitors that i will be replacing with these. It is hard to multitask with standard monitors once you see the benefit of the ultrawide. Been waiting for 3-4 months for this deal to come back!

I appreciate your informative comment. I've had just the opposite experience. My big cheap LG monitor had been going strong, no problems. Based on my experience I would buy a cheap LG monitor again in a heartbeat

For office work, it seems like you're moving in the wrong direction and would be better served with two of the Dell displays with 16:10 ratio.

Why do you think that one would be better suited? Thanks for the advice.

My goal is to have 2 full size windows side by side (it's a proprietary program) and SKYPE peeking out from the left over space.

This thing is tiny. Its definitely not going to replace 2 1080 screens. You should be looking at a 34 inch 3400x1440.
