Amazing deal, this one actually comes with 6 hands rather than 2.

If you like it, its a good watch. No amount of explaining or justification will ever matter to people that dont share your views. It is a luxury object in the sense that none of us need them. If you like it and can afford it, then buy it based on your reasons. Other peoples reasons dont matter at all for how you spend your money.

The thing about Zenith is that the quality goes in before the name goes on. That's why it's so expensive.

This watch contains the first integrated automatic chronograph movement designed in the late 60s which has been virtually unchanged. The same movement was used in rolex daytonas for a while. It beats at 36000 vph which is incredibly smooth and when seen in person, hard to imagine it's a mechanical watch. Nearly every piece of the movement is hand finished which you can see through a sapphire (clear) case back. It's a great piece from a historic company. Frankly I like the tricolor better myself.

I love this watch, that being said I can't see it holding its value (vs other watches in this general price range of $5-10k) like a Rolex... probably worth saving up for a Daytona instead?

The way you tell a good watch is the closer you look at it, the better it looks. Try it, go to a jewelry store and look at a premium brand and then a consumer brand.

Man that movement! I've never been a real big fan of Zeniths, but the movements are epic (that 36k VPH & column wheel chrono at the heart makes it one of the best movements ever made). The rest of the watch is, well, kind of average...and enormous! I can certainly do without that 45mm case. All that said, it's still a great watch if it suits your taste (and wrist size).

Put that movement in a 40mm Breitling Navitimer (something that will probably never happen) and you'd have my dream watch (I wonder if a competent Swiss watchmaker could soup up a B01 movement kind of like Rolex dumbed down the El Primero in the Daytona?).
