Well MSRP only really serves as a reference when the value is largely driven by the sentiment of bitcoin at any given moment. So relative to GPU prices at bitcoin highs, this is still pretty cheap. Doubtful they have bottomed out yet though.

MSRP matters as it is a price that I wish Nvidia and AMD would enforce or stop sending stock to said retailer. That would help. I have been boycotting retailers gouging on prices for that reason. If NVidia and AMD told retailers they would supply them with less or none and give other retailers their stock instead if they find them price gouging, then we wouldn't have price gouging from the retail side of things. If AMD and Nvidia cared about their long term profits and not this short term windfall they've been getting they would change things as well. If a third party manufacturer came out with even a remotely competing card in the future (which may be happening soon from China) I'd be giving all my future business to them instead because of the current debacle.
