Unlike some drops, this one is actually a decent price. Good find!

They need to pass on more savings to customers. Could even be in the form of free shipping!

About 2 years ago Glycine was bought by Invicta. Expect the watches to be continually lowered in price and quality.

These typically sell around $400-420 from Jomashop when on sale. There have been 4 or 5 previous Massdrops at the same $380 price point. So if you miss this sale, you can be certain another will come around soon.

Agreed. So far they still seem like a good first automatic diver with a base eta 2824. I handled one a few years ago and it seemed really solid. Felt good on the wrist. Not sure what their most recent production quality levels are though. I'd side with you that quality will eventually lose out on the name of cost reduction. But for somebody looking for a first automatic diver, not necessarily a bad option.

It is not the worst option for a first diver. Personally I would go with a Seiko SKX007, C Ward C60, or Orient Ray II USA in the same price range.

The C60 costs almost four times as much as the other two. Confused

Unless you mean the C60 quartz, which is "only" twice the price of the other two...

Check out the WUS forums, they post C Ward deals semi often. My C Ward C60 Pro 600 was $420.

EDIT: I just rechecked my paypal receipt. It was $372.24 with shipping [imgur.com]. So actually cheaper than this Invicta.

EDIT 2: Your math is extremely off [imgur.com]. Even with zero sales and purchasing it full MSRP it would be $732 with strap or $804 with bracelet. Not sure what kind of math you are using but $732 is not "almost four times as much" as $380. But that is comparing full MSRP to a sale price. C Wards have 20-50% sales often. With fathers day around the corner, it's likely you will see a sale soon.

I think poster was referring the price of the Christopher ward watch to the orient and seiko watches. Not the glycine.

I took advantage of this mass drop back in December for same price. Received item as described.

Really liked the c60 watches but didn't see prices as good as yours. But really don't need another watch. Lol.

Btw both the seiko and orient watches are under $200 on Amazon

The Seiko is an amazing watch and simply the best value you can get for an automatic diver. Nothing really compares at their price and it is frequently recommend for a reason. The Orient USA II (sapphire and solid end links) runs $380 and isnt available on Amazon.

I simply listed the 3 best diver watches in this price range (including cheaper). Also it isnt really fair to compare to C Ward MSRP, this is slickdeals and MSRP doesnt mean anything here.

Never even heard of this brand but if they were bought by Invicta then MSRP is grossly inflated. The previous deals for the Hamilton and Tissot watches are far better values.

Yeah, the SKX is amazing, especially when you ditch the OEM bracelet and get a strapcode super oyster. I've had the same SKX for 10 years, and it gets better and better.
