Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Founder's Edition $399

Found this on nvidia website. Many people have opinions for founder's edition cards but in a market where graphics card prices are not dropping, beggars can't be choosers. $399 was good enough for me and haven't seen it lower than that brand new. ($425 with tax) Typically founder's edition are more expensive than other company versions.

I did some research and nvidia offers the "blower" cooling card which is great for small cases that don't have much ventilation. Aside from that people can argue speed, specs, whatever...

I keep seeing GTX 1070 deals posted for $449 from EVGA.

The TI I heard runs very hot temperature wise. It does perform better obviously but the temperature might be an issue for some builds

Not really a deal considering this is MSRP and they've been in stock all week. The GPU market is cooling down fast, miners don't need them as bad

I hope you are right about the gpu market cooling down. I've been waiting for a year and all the prices have done is go above msrp. If you look at other gpu from evga, Asus, zotac, they are all above msrp. In addition the prices are shown as great deals on slickdeals. Just do a search and you will see. Considering all that I think msrp at this time is best if you can take advantage of it. Otherwise if you want to wait than wait.

These founders edition cards are blower cards tho, won't do any better with temperature and usually very noisy too.

Honestly I play with my headphones on so sound means little to me. Just temperatures should matter. I read that blower cards are better at dissipating heat out the back of the pc hence blower. The other ones require a tower with enough space for a meaningfull airflow to keep them cool. If the airflow in case isn't right then non-blower cards can contribute to the heat inside case. Just YouTube the topic and you will see.

Yeah I'm well aware the differences between blower and open fan cards. I usually prefer the latter because I like to play games with speakers on, and the screaming fan on blower cards is pretty annoying to me. With open fan cards you'll need a bigger case and good case fans too. That's just personal preference.

BTW, I do think this is a slickdeal tho, just because it's still hard to get a 1070 for MSRP these days.

Thank you for the constructive response. Definitely depends on everyone's taste. To be honest I'm getting the 1070 tomorrow in mail and it's the first blower type card I will experience so I personally don't have any idea of its noise. Just read lots about it and saw on YouTube.
