brickseek showed my local walmart had 42 in stock and the walmart app told me they were located in aisle M20. i looked thoroughly through the aisle and only found black web and monster branded hdmi cables so i asked an employee if they had other hdmi cables located somewhere else because i wanted GE brand. they said that was it and that they dont carry the GE brand HDMI anymore despite me asking to look in the back since the app said they had it in stock. i gave up on them and went up and down that aisle for a while longer then went through the other aisles. i did find about 5 optical cables by the soundbars for a dollar despite brickseek telling me there were none available so i grabbed all of them like any logical person would. although brickseek was wrong in this situation for some reason this gave me hope. i walked through the rest of the electronics aisles multiple times and had some false hope when i found some HDMI cables in the random 9.88 and under blue cardboard display at the front of the electronics (you know what im talking about) but was disappointed when they turned out to be this stupid black web crap again. when i was finally about to quit like the lilght at the end of the tunel i saw them. 2 aisles down from M20 by some crap you wouldnt expect (alarm clocks), they were all on display with the regular price of like 9 something. i scanned the barcode with the walmart app and it showed up as $1 price so i did what any logical person would do AGAIN and i threw all of them in my cart. i wanted to go back to the employees and be like FOUND THEM but i refrained because i am an adult (but it was probably more along the lines of embarrassment of why anyone would have a cart full of HDMI cables, like why would you ever need that many? but then i remembered perusing peopleofwalmart.com and thought theres no reason to be embarassed and marched down the aisle with pride). at checkout i ended up not buying one of them because it looked like it had been opened and returned but the rest were in perfect condition still sealed and when i counted the total did come out to 42 (41 without the 1 i left at the register). figure if i sell even 10 of them for 5 bucks each i will break even and still have 30 cables left despite only initially needing no more than 5. i dont know why i spent so much time writing this entire thing up, all i wanted to say was thank you for the post.

moral of the story is brickseek can be right or wrong, either way you dont win unless you try and walking out with that much crap for only 60 bucks (bought some more clearance stuff) felt like a win for me. in other news this post is also why my wife hates walmart/slickdeals because i just buy shit i dont need

no, moral of the story is you are a greedy pig. Remember how bummed you feel when you go hunt for a deal only to find out some swine bought them all?
Resellers are like some other groups of people.... need to 'go away'.

it was added to the spec in v1.4, it's the optional HEC portion. basically allowed devices to "share" ethernet connections via HDMI. personally, I haven't seen many, if any, HEC compatible devices... in reality, it's just another buzzword to slap on some video cables to get people to buy em'.
