How does this compare to the new TCL 6 series? The LG B7 55" is getting awfully close to the price of these 65" TVs. Debating between prioritizing size vs color/contrast.

You basically trade FALD backlight and better brightness on TCL for edge lit on this instead but also gain a 120hz panel on this vs. 60hz on the TCL 6 series.

For $200 less than he TCL I'd say it's a good deal, reviews are very hard to find on this set though.

Basically it's a very solid set, at $800 tough to compete against with 120hz panel, WCG, solid black levels, but doesnt get bright at all, probably performs like a Samsung MU7000 series with a 120hz panel basically. I wouldn't say 8000 series because those get about twice as bright as a 7000 series.

120 hz is essentially useless. that's why even at $800 people will rather buy brighter, FALD 60hz tv's like TCL for $200+ more. This thread will be a quiet one.

Edit: Interesting TV. One review found it's brightness in a 10% window at 328 nits, but full screen brightness was better at 412 nits. More interestingly to me,

Even briefly comparing the Hisense with the calibrated Sony OLED set mentioned above—a $4,000 TV—the Hisense was far from embarrassed. Of course, it couldn't approach the OLED in its contrast, blacks, and shadow detail. But its color and resolution were in the same ballpark. In the acid test of filmed fleshtones, my preference went back and forth between the two sets. Fleshtones can be notoriously variable in movies, but neither set looked consistently better or worse than the other. As for resolution, the Sony did look a bit crisper on some UHD/HDR material, but it was so close that you'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite. And on those bright HDR highlights, the Sony popped just a little more—but even when viewed side by side, the differences certainly weren't dramatic.

I think that's my greatest fear since I'm not a videophile nor do I have multiple sets to compare. That I'll spend more for a high brightness TV when in the end I wouldn't really have noticed the difference...

Anyways probably the biggest problem though is for just 200 more the TCL with much better specs lurks. Plus nobody did input lag measurements in their review that I saw, so that's an unknown for gamers. Wish Rtings had reviewed it.

I dont think theres any Xbox game that can run 120 fps?

And i doubt there ever will be as it's so demanding. MAYBE some dinky 2d graphics game here and there? Like a indie game? That's speculation though.

Nominal benefit anyway

It replaced a 65" 1080p. It literally gave me a headache.

Got this from Best Buy for $698 about 3 months ago with a price match to Sams Club. My first 4k HDR TV so did not have anything to compare it to but I am loving watching TV on it especially sports. Would definitely recommend it.

Damn near. I have a powerhouse gaming rig and just watch Netflix and UHD Blurays. I don't have cable. Never been a big TV watcher.
