Because this price is higher than I paid a month ago. That's my reason. I don't get why people keep posting the opposite of a slick deal for ram. It happens a lot.

If the price is high because they artificially limited supply, wouldn't it be months before manufacturing and distribution increased the supply to the consumer for prices to come down? (after they turn the tap back on) It's not like the price is based on futures trading.

Its definitely not dropping anytime soon. Maybe many months down the road, if you're building a system between now and the end of the year, any deal is good. I just paid $200 for 16gb, and no I was not happy about it.

Yeah, I ordered this deal yesterday, found it through pcpartpicker, but I also noticed what I paid last time I ordered ram. Black Friday 2015 I bought 2x4GB DDR3 1600 Ripjaws for $30.63 (which goes for $69.99 today).
