Get a one-time $20 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $100 or more online at buyhiltongiftcards.com by 8/31/2018.

http://www.amexoffers.com/

Offer terms:
Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Valid online only at buyhiltongiftcards.com. Not valid for in-store purchases. Excludes purchases made at third party websites. Offer not valid for any purchases made by using American Express Membership Rewards® points. The Hilton Gift Card may be used only at Hilton Hotels and properties worldwide that accept American Express® Cards. Funds do not expire. The Hilton Gift Card cannot be used at ATMs. Not redeemable for cash, except where required by law. Additional limitations apply, including restrictions on use of the Card for recurring billing. Read Cardholder Agreement for complete terms and conditions, including a binding individual arbitration clause. See Cardholder Agreement for complete details at AmexGiftCard.com/Hilton. This Hilton Gift Card is issued by American Express Prepaid Card Management Corporation. See merchant website for shipping policy. Some merchants may not ship to all areas. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not provided until after 8/31/2018, it may not count towards determining whether the purchase qualifies for the offer. Limit of 1 statement credit(s) per American Express® Card across all American Express offer channels. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 8/31/2018, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it.

I did this at Xmas with a free ship code. A Double Tree refused them. A Hilton resort said it was an AMEX gift card that could be used as any other AMEX gift card, not just at Hilton properties. It looked like a Hilton-branded AMEX gift card.

were you able to use it as a normal amex gift card @ non-hilton locations like for grocery purchase?

It seems that any charges to the room, including room rate charges, taxes, etc. can be paid with the card:

Resource: http://hiltonhonors3.hilton.com/e...d/faq.html

However, they seem to be saying that an individual hotel has the right to decide how they will use it. The whole thing sounds a bit fishy:
Quote :
Q: HOW CAN I REDEEM OR USE THE NEW GLOBALLY ACCEPTED GIFT CARD AT A HOTEL WITHIN THE HILTON WORLDWIDE PORTFOLIO?
A: The hotel location will determine how you can redeem a gift card on-property:
US, PUERTO RICO AND US VIRGIN ISLANDS: Gift cards can be used for folio charges upon hotel check-out or at any on-property outlets such as restaurants, spas, shops, and golf courses.
OUTSIDE THE US, PUERTO RICO AND US VIRGIN ISLANDS: Gift cards can be used for hotel folio charges upon check-out only. Guests may apply restaurant or other eligible on-property charges to their folio and settle at check-out using a gift card.

Nope. Mine just arrived. I was unable to use it on Amazon. The wording of the T&C's is a little different on the version it came with. Sounds like it must be used at a Hilton property. Frown

I used at a Hilton resort after insisting that it be applied to my folio. Based on my experience with this -- specifically, a Hilton Doubletree refusing it as a method of payment on an earlier stay -- I have decided to pass on this in the future.

It's been a while since your stay, were you able to use the card without any issue?

yeah the card worked fine. the only issue is that I used my wife's online account to activate the offer, but used my authorized user card to buy the gift card. This meant i did not get the $20 cash back, and in effect paid $101.95 for a $100 gift card. whatever...
