They just released BluDot..... wondering which is better. Also makes me wonder if an updated smoke version could be on the way.

Blue dot is only 1 sensor but with bluetooth to your phone.
Smoke is 2 sensors to a remote, requires gateway and wifi to talk to your phone.

Which is better is up to whoever is cooking. But I'd like a dedicated device and buttons vs fumbling with my phone.

Two probe is better and having a remote is nice, but being able to see graphs and set the temperature ranges/settings through an app is pretty slick. Paying an additional $89 or so for the wifi bridge is more than a bit pricy.

Still might pick up the smoke. Guess I don't need graphs....or do I? Lol

Smoke is also meant for grilling/BBQing. BlueDOT isn't

This one is a good alternative if you want the two sensors and phone/bluetooth connectivity. https://meater.com/

These are good for grilling but almost necessary for BBQ/smoking. With BBQ you want low and slow and to be able to monitor the ambient temperature and meat temperature for hours. Grilling, is a quick cook and easier to know when things are ready.
