There are valid reasons for which some still uses stand alone GPS units like this and they can't entirely relay on the so called expensive shiny modern phones. So some people who are constantly trolling the GPS posts should stop doing this and rather spend their time else where.

So what is the modern way to do it? It has Traffic, lifetime map and no spying on you that Goog maps does? Wondering your perspective?

Good luck Navigating traffic offline....
Garmin GPS saved us getting back to FL after Irma when the cell towers were overloaded and we were forced to take backroads. No service, no Waze, no traffic. My garmin got us through it.
