EEA status

569 92 June 2, 2018 at 07:09 AM
Hi,

I received an email asking me to confirm my "EEA Status". I am located in America, but opened slickdeals while using a European VPN server.

How do I confirm my status so my account is not deleted?

Hi caps, when you open Slickdeals.net while signed into your account, do you or have you seen the message shown below?

I am getting this email as well--I have gotten it every day for the past 3-4 days. When I click the "confirm" button in the email, it just takes me to the normal deals page. I have tried clicking the confirm button several times, both on mobile and desktop computers.

I also created a help desk ticket, but the only response was "your account is activated". I am thinking the person that responded to that ticket was assuming my question was related to normal new account activation? A quick glance would've shown I have been a member for several years, with a handful of posts.... I replied to that response with a screenshot of the email, and further clarification, but I have not gotten any more help or information.

Can you try going back to the emails and click through the button/link to confirm your accounts, if you haven't done so already? We just deployed a fix for this.

I just tried this again--still takes me to my normal deals page/listing. I tried clicking the link through a couple different emails (I have been getting them every morning).

Ah, apologies. You should be able to confirm with the next email that's sent to you.

But...you say you've been getting these reminder emails every day?

No worries, as long as my account doesn't get disabled, as the email is warning! Smilie

And yes, every single morning since Saturday... each of them arrive just after 9am CDT.

Hi htsu. Are you using the Classic or Redesign version of the site?

Classic, I think? But I use the iOS app (up to date version) as well.

If you received the reminder email today, can you click on the button/link? You should be taken to the site to see the confirmation popups. Be sure to confirm "no" if you are not an EU user.

I have not yet received an email today—normally would have arrived about 30-35 minutes ago. Maybe all is good now?

As far as I know, your account has not been confirmed either way yet. Which means you should receive an reminder email. If you don't receive the next one before the end of the weekend, please reply and/or PM me.

We found an issue in our system that prevented emails from going out today. Will send them out again as soon as the issue is resolved.

At the same time, you can get a jump on this and confirm on your own. If you first saw those prompts because you used VPN to go through an EU IP, you can use VPN again and you should be able to confirm that way without having to wait for an email.
