They work great moved from a victorian to a full house heat ac so sold mine.
1 on each floor and a fan to push the air across the upstairs area.
My old house kept nice and cool without them constantly running and the brand is very reliable, any problems dont call danby just exchange or return to Costco.

Bought this a few weeks ago. Haven't installed it yet, so I can't speak to its performance. I have high ceilings and live in a 3rd floor apartment. A good deal, and qualifies for lifetime returns if you're not happy with it.

Bought it a week ago. It is the loudest a/c even on low fan. Don't know whether to exchange or return and look elsewhere.

If you want quiet, look at the LG Dual inverter series at Home Depot. They cost twice as much but are more efficient and you might eventually make up the difference. Get it for the decibels though, it is amazingly quiet for a window unit.

I went by to pick one of these up today and ended up getting a MasterCool evaporative window cooler instead. (MCP44)
It can cool up to 1600 sq ft as opposed to 500 for the A/C unit.
It was only $299 after $100 off right now. (Reg price is 399 at Costco, around $500-$550 at most other places)
I'll install it this weekend and see how it works. Pretty good reviews and much, much cheaper to operate than a A/C unit.
If it goes well maybe I'll post a new thread for it.

*** I'm no expert but swamp coolers don't work in all areas. From what I understand if your dew point in 55 degrees or less it should work.

Yes, in Coer d'Alene, Idaho.
I never saw it at Costco online either, was surprised when we saw it.
I can get the item number later if needed.

I went into Costco eugene oregon. they have no air conditioners at all in stock but had 16 of these swamp coolers for $299. the rebate is good till September.

my particular store is going to stop carrying them when sold out.

yeah we installed this motherfarker but realized the remote was missing so we gunna swap it.

we also goofed on the install a bit. make sure if putting this in a window to put the giant water filter on the fan when taking measurements to screw the item to the house and make sure that sucker is level and not on a tilt into the window. the reason is we screwed it onto the house, but couldn't put the big water filter back on as it was too tightly and snug to the house.
