You can clean every washing machine in the world by running a warm-hot water cycle with a single cup of bleach. Why the hell would you buy a kit?

You can buy an entire gallon of bleach for like 2$.

Stay away from this and Tide in general if you have asthma, allergies or are sensitive to chemicals.

Snake oil

Leave the washing machine door open when not in use. Problem solved.

Ingredients.

Sodium Carbonate / Soda Ash 10-20%
Sodium nonanoyloxybenzenesulfonate(NOBS) 10-20%
Sodium Carbonate Peroxide / Percarbonate 10-20%
Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulfonate 1-5%

It's a laundry detergent with a few ingredients. Like others have said, it's snake oil.

Why would you say that? What would you recommend? I thought Tide was the best. I am asking bc I got asthma and allergies.

I recommend All free and clear for regular laundry and just regular bleach or vinegar for cleaning the machine. I am so allergic to Tide I slept at my grandmother's house once and I she had used Tide to wash the sheets and blankets. It took almost three weeks for the rash to go away. It also causes me trouble breathing when I am exposed it, as does Fabulso. But I have switched all my family and my husband's to All free and clear. It's what my dermatologist recommends and I've used it forever. Everyone loves it, gets your clothes clean without the fragrances and allergens. My son has eczema and it's the only thing that doesn't irritate it.

You have to try things out and see what makes you better or worse. Not everyone is the same but I know more people who have allergies to Tide than any other detergent.

Interesting I usually buy tide but I am going to try this All free and clear. Sometimes I would have some allergic reactions to washed clothes but they were not terrible. Thanks for the advice!

Used this once and threw the rest away. Made the whole house smell of chemicals that felt like they got into your nose and mouth. I literally was hacking and blowing my nose the first night. Had to open all the windows during winter to air out the house. Oh, and it did a poor job of cleaning. Ended up with vinegar and distilled water mixture to do the job properly. I would have tried bleach had that not worked.

I don't see why people can't do this. Just let the damn washer dry, and then shut the door.

A few months ago, my washer quit, so I tore it apart. It had a little bit of gunk, on the tub, at the water line. But, nothing terrible. I've had it 12-15 yrs, & I expected it to be worse. I use the "Extra" brand of detergent.
I had looked at new washers, but, they all have the new electronics, for water savings. Some don't even have the agitator. I lucked out, & my sister had just bought a new washer, so I took parts off of her old washer to fix mine.
