Anyone using the SP6CII's as Atmos speakers? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Edit: sorry for the duplicate post, great minds think alike, and apparently at the same time. :-)

Comparing the SP4CII (the round ones) to the Polk Audio MC60

Frequency response is the same on paper.
Polk has an aim-able tweeter
Polk is a little more sensitive (91db vs 88db)
Polk has a higher rated power handling (100w vs 80w).

I would imagine in person they are very similar for atmos use, and my humble opinion is that you should get the one that pairs better with material/size/etc of your current setup to have a cohesive sound without any speaker standing out.

The Polks are 39 each (so same price pretty much) with the Fry's flyer right now. I'm pretty sure I'm getting a set of those for my 5.1.2 setup, they are a better fit for my setup.

They should work outside with no problem. The rubber surround on these should hold up better than a lot of speakers that use foam. As an electrician, I installed a number of speakers in the coastal areas and had no issues. When mounted properly in the ceiling or wall, they stay pretty well shielded from outside elements. Just beware of direct sunlight. That will kill just about anything.

They will work well. Atmos speakers don't really need to be anything special. The Monoprice ones will work fine too.

The round ones are meant for in-ceiling, the rectangular ones are meant for in-wall.

Just ordered the SP8ii for rear channels for my theater. Hopefully they are as good as the reviews say they are.

I am putting together a 4.1.2 atmos speakers. I have 2 studio 590 floorstandings. Would these be uniform sounding with those speakers?

I need my 2 atmos speakers and 2 rear speakers to be in ceilings for my living room as it flows into an open kitchen.

Would 4 of these in ceilings work? Or should I just use them as my 2 atmos in ceilings and my other 2 in ceilings to get https://www.jbl.com/STUDIO2+8IC.html
