the reasons keeping me from getting it.
-the holes in this version leave tear out in your wood
-NON ADJUSTABLE for different thicknesses of wood
-cheaper metal that seems to break so it will get bigger and bigger until unusable.
-screw clamp

if you are cool with all these then this should work for you.

This (and the Kreg version) allow you to drill pocket holes to hide screws and attach wood pieces together (without using dovetails or other traditional methods).

If you're not a woodworker or DIY type, you probably will never use it.

Well, yeah, you can clamp different thicknesses of wood in it, but only one size will have the screw exit in the middle. The Kreg jigs are completely adjustable to have perfectly centered holes at the appropriate depth and also allow you to take the drill block to the piece in places where clamping jigs like this can't go.

And while this one is aluminum, the plastic in the Kreg is highly reinforced with fiberglass and the parts that wear are metal. Almost every Kreg thread has people complaining about the plastic, but in practice it doesn't matter because it simply doesn't break.

This is cheap. I got the basic kreg for $40. Tempted to replace with this one. Does this one allow different wood thickness

I got the Milescraft pocketJig200 and like it better than the Kreg. But I like that this one is aluminum. Gets good reviews. I'd be in if I needed one

Snagged one. I have a few unique posters and paintings over the years and watching the vid made me realize how easy it would be to make a frame.

Good summer project for me. Now i need to look for some backing paper or w/e I can use to hold them in the frame.

Thanks for helping me spend my money!

Solid price! Only one week too late though lol. I got the Kreg R3 jig from Rockler that included the clamp for $40. Put it to good use already, these things are awesome. Thx OP.

Thanks! just grabbed one. I was looking at these just last week. Thinking about building a wood counter for my kitchen island.

In my opinion, then Kreg is worth it just for the upgraded clamp. I've used mine for hundreds of holes, that screw clap looks like a PITA. And for the guy that will undoubtedly want to post the Matthias Wandel video, spare us.

Second that man. The Kreg has metal in the actual drill guides. Plastic everywhere else but it's good solid stuff. Also the adjustable factor wins it for me. I've used my Kreg weekly for the last two years and it works every time.
