Seems like a decent price and an over-the-top brochure on Newegg describing the MB.

However, I'm only seeing 2 RAM slots and pretty sparse PCIxxx card slot options. Interesting that it has throwback options like VGA+DVI and PS/2 though.

Looks to be a Micro ATX board. That's pretty standard config, and lets you build a smaller sized rig.

I have expected a wee bit more from 2400G I have got. It runs WoW nicely and most older games but it was so bad in Shadow of War, I had no idea low settings quality looks so awful. And sometimes I get graphics glitches, like whole screen shattering to pieces and blinking windows or greened out youtube videos and some general video errors. No overclocking.
But I still like 2400G for everyday use, it's fast enough for the price and while some games are unplayable I still can run my favorite older ones and don't need a discrete GPU sitting there (had GTX 1060 before).
How much and how fast of ram are you running? To use the 2400g for gaming, you need to run 2 sticks of 3000/3200. Depending on the game, sometimes you need 16gb instead of 8gb. After gpu's 2gb shared memory, that only leaves 6gb for Windows, your game and any other programs to share. 6gb doesn't go very far these days.

This is a good deal, I paid 190 AR for the combo with the gigabyte AB350 mATX board.

I have used 16GB 3200MHz Corsair set. I have heard that some experienced exactly the same glitches as I did. But anyway - iGPU is close to RX550 or GT 1030 in performance and that's what it is.

I know some of last year's motherboards are Ryzen 2 ready but does anyone know if this is one of the motherboards that needs a BIOS update before it can be used?

The glitching isn't something you can warranty for? I haven't experienced that, did I get lucky or is your chip faulty?

you should be able to tell when you receive it based on S/N
rev 7A39v2C bios and above should be fine 1/29/18

believe AMD offers a loaner CPU if you're affected

thanks, I was under the impression B350 was compatible out of the box.

However, I can pretty much say with certainty, this one is 2000 series compatible. Could you imagine the backlash newegg would have to deal with if they sold this Shell Shocker bundle and it couldn't be used out of the box?

if you are going for more "intense' or "demanding" titles, then I would suggest that you are making sure to use a dedicated graphics card, although the APU is great for Esports titles and light gaming, integrated graphics will never be good enough to compete with having a decent GPU, at least not right now

Its confusing with these apus because you don't really get a good idea of what the equivalent GPU is. They just use the term Vega GPU or something and it makes you immediately think of the two Vega series out there which is a bit misleading.
