I know these have been on sale in the past without a rebate. What do they typically go for without rebate? I hate dealing with rebates so if it's only like $25 I'd rather just wait. Thanks!

Thanks for the info.

I see the 500w is now $19.99 AR. This looks to be the older model with the green sticker. From my understanding, these are inferior units to the new ones. Correct?

That seems correct. From my light research: The CX500 is group regulated which means your voltage regulation is not very good.

Getting a PSU that is DC-DC (like the CX450 & CX550) means better voltage regulation which means a more stable system and better overclocking. I see the newer versions also have "LLC resonant topology" which when googled sounds like a good thing.

I figure, that since I already know that my new system will use a lot less than 450w, the newer CX450 is a much better bet.

There is no advantage to having a larger power supply than you would ever need, and the disadvantage is that unless it is rated higher in efficiency (these are both Bronze) then you will waste more electricity for no reason.
