Home Depot clearance Purdy brushes and Minwax stains $5-$10

Just got back from Depot in Kansas City area. Word is that they are going to stop carrying Purdy brushes and Minwax.
Most stain/poly was about 1/3 off.

Brushes were about half price. I picked up some 1.5" sash brushes for $5.

Here is the brush I got for $5.

If you go on the HD website and search purdy none come up, changing to wooster.

I got gallons of poly for $24.

If you like Purdy brushes this is a steal. The HD ones are the same as the paint store ones. I don't like the XL myself but they have other stiffer better brushes.
As far as Wooster goes, the big box ones suck and not the same as the paint store brushes.

update I was just looking on HDs website and I see they have some of the good Woosters listed but they still have a lot of the garbage ones. I wonder if they are switching the Purdy's out for the good Woosters they didn't carry before.

Great, now I have to stop at HD. I love Purdys, and they last quite awhile if you don't leave sitting around with paint on them...

Stopped by the store in San Rafael (Norcal). Most of the Purdy brushes had been cleaned out. There were a few $10 Clearcuts and Pro-Extras, but the $5 brushes were long gone.

I've been told by some professional painters Wooster has improved in quality over the years likely matching Purdy brushes today. I'll probably stick with Purdy unless I'm on a time crunch and happen to be at Home Depot. Luckily, Walmart still sells them.

Unlikely, HD clearance is on a store by store basis. Deals like this usually are found only at one particular store.

Lowe's has a contract with Sherwin Williams who owns purdy brushes. Lowe's will be the only seller of Purdy brushes
