"Best 4-player co-op since Left 4 Dead" ?!?! It basically IS left 4 dead!

In all seriousness, there's different player classes and weapons to which one can equip. Other than that though, it's DAMN similar. One drawback it has is that the majority of the attacks are melee attacks, and honestly I don't feel the melee user-experience is super polished. So while the game was certainly fun to get in and mix it up with some friends.....it got old quick. After two nights of playing, I was already pretty burnt out on it. Just my 2 cents.

That's how I feel about it. The melee is your usual crappy fps melee but in a melee oriented game it doesn't make much sense. They should have tried to emulate mount and blade or chivalry at least.

Also It seems like a lot of the game mechanics aren't well thought out. Like in left 4 dead when a tank comes at you you think "ok I need to damage this guy but avoid him as well. Which I do by running away and shooting." but in vermintide 2 that's not the case you have to run at the thing that hurts you so there's no chance of not getting severely injured by it. I think the decision to have a melee only type of game (minus the pyromancer class) was bad. The game would have been a lot more fun if there were certain classes designed for melee and to tank damage but others designed to work around the tank and hang back.

just my 2 cents

If you like the left for dead genre of games/are a huge warhammer nerd its definitely worth a pick up. I thought the game was great fun and for 20 dollars its worth its price easy.

You'd each need a copy and two computers.

agree wholeheartedly with all the comments about the flaws of melee-centric combat in this game.

You are basically punished for fighting, and better off running or using weaker ranged weapons.

There is def a lot of content here, but would recommend playing with friends to coordinate the clusterfark that can be.

Also seems like CE offers nothing in terms of gameplay, not even in-game cosmetics. Meh

This is misinformation...it doesn't appear you have really played much.

There are quite a number of ranged classes including Waystalker, Bounty Hunter, Dwarven Ranger, Huntsman and all three of Sienna's subclasses. You can also melee bosses without being 'severely injured'.

This game is VERY MUCH worth $19. It looks great, feels great and sounds great. 'Visceral' would be my one-word summary. See all the highly positive professional reviews.

Yeah there's the matter of dodging and parrying damage that wasn't mentioned.

Like any skill based game, there is a learning curve. And in this game, it can run quite deep with all the various difficulties. Skilled players can play on the hardest difficulty with relative success using level 1 characters.

The one thing I'll conceded is that there is a lot that the tutorial won't teach you like the fact that you can hold block while resurrecting or to give others potions and all the various nuances and game mechanics so some research on the side is needed. Luckily, other players have created great guides and lists of tips for beginners such as what I have linked below
