As of a couple days ago, Best Buy and Microcenter were same price. I bought one from Best Buy.

Those were the 875 though. but I read that they're the same thing.

Crap, best buy is now up to 125 for this unit. Not sure bout MicroCenter. Not sure what the difference is between 870 and 875

Thanks, but it will be tough to buy anything Magnavox. I may just go with this deal from OverStock. Dolby Vision be damned!

Magnavox is same as Philips and Sanyo, made by Funai and it's a totally fine player. I have it and the Xbox one S and I prefer it for uhd playback.

I haven't dug deeply into the problem yet, but I have difficulty with this player and my Sony Google tv. It plays DVD's stretched out and 'flattened" vertically. I looked through every setting on the player and the tv and couldn't find any aspect ratio or screen size options. The only clue I found was some vague statements that the tv may be the culprit, since a 4k digital out signal to it may eliminate some screen options like a 4:3 ratio and Sony seems lax about fixing these sorts of problems, and the player doesn't seem to have the options to fix it on the output side.

I have an xbox one and a couple of other Samsung BR players, and those don't have this problem.

Just FYI if you still have some DVD's laying around. If anyone has found a fix to this, chime in and let me know.

Are you saying there is no 4:3 aspect ratio setting on the LG 870 under Display Menu?

It's on pg 19 of the manual. http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-UP870

Or are you saying the 4:3 aspect ratio setting is available, but it's broken?

Does the Sony Google TV have 4k resolution? It seems to support only 1080P. Marking Specifications on Sony Page. https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/mo...manualsTab

My current blu-ray player keeps cutting in and out, so debating if I want to get this or not. The projector in my theater room is only 1080p, but I'm sure this would still look great and actually work unlike my current player.
