Was looking for an android box under $50 to watch Kodi. The keyboard was a happy surprise, hopefully never have to use those miserable on-screen ones again. It says it does 4K which is nice, though I've never seen a 4K source on Kodi so for me this was irrelevant.

Hmm personally i think S912 and 3gb or better 4gb of Ram should be the way to go. I saw on some review video not long ago that those android box initially using 1gb++ ram in default, left with only a few hundred mb usable for apps.

I might be wrong so dont quote me on this.

I have the earlier version of the keyboard (maybe 1st gen). Definitely not meant for a heavy-typing kinda task. But it just works. I used it on Vista, 7, 8, and now, Windows 10. I wish it's backlit since I use my computer to watch movie on a projector.

That a ROCKCHIP box? There is less and less support for that chipset. Stick to 912 chipset. If you get this keep a small build on it. Most times ppl load a big build with lots of addons thinking its better. the more addons you have the slower kodi will be.

I have been pointing my friends and family to SunVell T95z Plus They have 2gig and 3gig boxes. It runs kodi great and I even set some of these up as retro gaming devices for friends that wanted that extra.

I agree with many others in that you shouldbstick with an aml chip (s912, 905x, etc). May aml boxes have great vommunity support like android tv roms and such. Some of the 905x boxes even have some basic widevine support and can officially stream HD netflix (not sure if 720 or 1080, def not 4k).

From my research, no chinese box can do 1080p or 4k netflix, amazon prime hd since they dont have the widevine support

Good to know. Depending on someone's needs 720 may be doable where 480 is brutal if netflix is important,to you

720 and widevine l1 is better than nothing.

I agree with most here. That second link near the bottom for the one with the 912 is probably worth the extra on the long run. It's only another $17 bucks. But then again I could be wrong, very unfamiliar with the tiers of rockchips.

What can you suggest that has 3-4GB of RAM? I can never get a good solid recommendation on one.
