Costco Champion 7000w Generator Newer Model $549.99

Costco website has the champion generator listed 699.99 with manufacturers coupon of 150. not as sweet as the last listing of the older model with the free 25 ft cord but it's good enough for me because it's the newer model. What do my slickdeal brethren think

What's keeping me from purchasing right now is the $99.99 shipping. I can't find it locally in Orlando.

Just remember, we are on a sales tax exemption through tomorrow (June 7) on storm preparedness supplies, including generators $750 or less

I know. The sales tax saves a little under $40. Still expensive shipping.

Called the Brandon, FL Costco. Not in store so I bought it online. It will charge you sales tax at checkout. You send an email to request the tax credit.

Per the Costco Website:

"If your order is being shipped to a state with a tax holiday, please email your request to taxrequest@costco.com with the following subject line: "Sales Tax Holiday Request."

In the body of the email, we ask that you please include:

Your membership number
Your first and last name
The Costco.com order number
The item submitted for consideration (please include the item number and product description)
The state in which the tax holiday occurred
Whether this purchase was for personal or business use

Once we get your email, we'll be happy to issue a credit for tax on any qualifying purchases after the order has shipped."

I thought about doing the same thing, but ended up buying the Firman 9400w for 649.99 at Costco. Same price if you add shipping, a little louder, but you get a 50 and 30 amp outlet.

With the sales tax holiday and not a generator to be had locally...I pulled the trigger on this one.

Dual fuel did it for me. It will replace my 10 year old troyBilt 5500. That one will go on CL and will net around $500. I can probably get a lot more if I hang onto it and sell it after a storm.😐

Should be the standard 100% satisfaction guarantee.
I have the older model that I bought 3 years ago and love it. Only problem I have is the battery start cable to the battery seems to have broken off. Considering returning it and buying this new one.

Thanks that's what I needed to know. I would really like to find this locally so I don't have to pay the shipping. Hopefully they have it here in Orange County. Other than the larger size how does this compare to the blue Duramax Ebay deal for $400 or so? I know this one is much more power and also it can do propane which is what I would run exclusively so I don't have to deal with carb cleaning. Propane is much better for long term right? Who services these things and how much does it cost? Is servicing these motors difficult?

Ordered one online, walked into Costco this afternoon around 4, and they had just put 5 out. All but 1 were gone within minutes. **Edit - I am sorry this was the newer model Firman brand at 650.
