Tempted by this but my wife maintains we need 3 x 28" for our family since we have 3 old and busted 30" currently. I pointed out we can never fill them because of weight considerations but that fell on deaf ears..

I'm a huge fan of the Omni Hardside. Bought two in the Kohl's deal last year. I highly recommend them to anybody that's considering.

I was actually looking this morning to replace my previous Samsonite set. I have the Winfield, just a different design, and I love it. It's been all over the world with me and holds up (and cleans up) very nicely.

They have been abused by baggage handlers, cab drivers, and myself, and I have not had any damage in many years and hundreds of airports.

I just bought these and will stick them in the garage for the eventual demise of my existing set. If you're new to travel, this is a great set and a really good deal. I was hoping to find just the 20" and 28" pieces for a combined $200. To get 3 pieces for $160 is nothing to ignore.

It may be ~2" larger than some airlines like, but you can just classify it as oversized and pay a little extra and it'll go ahead. You need to be very careful with the carryon though, that's the one they are usually strict on.
