As an owner I would not buy this machine, even if the price is good. Apple is being sued right now because of the poorly designed keyboard and the fact that they aren't taking care of customers experiencing this widespread issue. At minimum you need AppleCare but even so they have been asking people to pay hundreds of dollars to repair the faulty keyboard. Until they address the issue this is a risky device to purchase.

Agreed. I owned several back products and my MBP died recently. I'm not buying a new apple computer until they fix this stupid keyboard issue. This is ridiculous. Don't support trash. They will only keep selling this if people keep buying it. Stop.

Our family owns two of these and they are a great laptop. Both touchbar versions. We have know problems with the Keyboard and would not buy a different laptop.
Very spammy reply. 10 rep, Iffy grammar. I guess if I was a millionaire I'd do the same but for the average person paying a premium and then having the product fail it's not a good purchase. I have Apple stuff, IPhone X, Apple TVs, the current MacBooks Pros are not good products. Better off buying a 2015 model.

dell XPS line has better everything. I haven't treid hackintosh with the newer models yet but the older ones were fine. Or just bootup a VM.

I can confirm that the keyboard problem exists on my 2016 MacBook Pro and the fix is to send it in to Applecare (3-5 day turnaround time) to have it replaced with the 2017 model keyboard top cover. Unfortunately, you have to go in and complain twice about the issue before they do the replacement for you.

I have 2 other friends with 2016 MacBook Pros and they had the same exact issues.

I have the 2016 15" mbp and my bro has the 13" mbp non touchbar and we dont have issues since we dont eat on top of it.

I feel like its a big bad batch of them that has the keyboard issues and not all.

Also given the 1 yr warranty and lawsuits I think Apple can maybe even replace these with 2018 models if you have a problem and your within the 1 yr period?

Maybe I am too imaginative but Apple's got to do something to win us back.

If this is the case that will be great!

I saw the 2016 macbook pro 13 inch with touch bar drop down to $1199
Now that was a good day to buy a Mac.

Hell no lol. My XPS lags like crazy just web browsing. Absolutely nothing installed besides Google Chrome. Fans kick into high gear and the machine can cook raw egg half way.

This is core i7 model we're talking lol.

I'm in the same boat. I messed up my 2009 MBP's battery and was due for a new laptop anyways.

WWDC revealed no hardware (including no comment on butterfly switches) ... looking at XPS 9360 if a good sale pops up in the next few months.

9360s, one generation old XPS 13" laptops WITH USB type A, are rather competitive and comparable with MacBook pros. Something to look into.

I somewhat agree regarding their products, except I wouldn't recommend any Mac computer. Their history of failures and difficult repairs comes biting you in the ass, and you end up feeling horrible if someone follows your advice and runs into issues.
