I thought this would be a pretty simple question to answer via the Googles, but my Google-fu is apparently weak. What's the model #, exactly? I want to go pick up a PS4 Pro locally during this $50 discount, but I am going to know for sure which to get before I do.

CUH-7000 - old model
CUH-7100 - new model

Yet I see CUH-7015B mentioned repeatedly.

Confused

Honestly, just add "reddit" to any search you need open advice on and you'll get a pretty well self-governed set of answers. That said, the newest model is the quietest one. You can tell by the box having the new UHD gold box logo on the top corner. Also, go for the God of War bundle. It's amazing and quiet.

Thanks Boston Batman. I'd read some reddit threads but just didn't see anything solid. Seems like it's trading one poison for another, i.e. fan noise vs. coil whine.

you're not kidding. you could post "Free week-long vacation with Mila Kunis and Scarlett Johansen on a 120 foot yacht with the purchase of any package of Skittles from 7-11. Use coupon code THREESOME to get half off of the Skittles."

you know what you're going to get? TD for not posting YMMV. TD for not being able to replicate the deal in Somalia or at Circle K. TD for listing in the hot deals forum instead of the coupon forum. TD b/c someone posted the same deal 22 years ago.

Tried to take your advice on the GOW bundle. No such thing as retail on that anymore I see. :/

Best way to get retail is find a best buy with it in stock (online or in store), then find a store that has it listed for msrp, then price match. But yeah, I got it for the normal $400 from Target when it came out. Super dope and definitely a different "flavor" of noise, but otherwise acceptible. The graphics really make the different. No more popping and jitter during "live-action" cutscenes

Thanks Boston. Didn't realize any BestBuy had it in stock. I'll try this...thanks!

Well, that was quick. No stock anywhere. There is one at a Target in Philly, but I'm willing to bet it's an inventory error.

Add the alert here on SlickDeals and call around. The easiest way is to actually walk the stores, since Target is actually HORRIBLE with inventory control. The SNES min, for instance , never even gets loaded into the stock inventory database. Just straight to the shelves. It's madness!

Lol its not based on model # but brand of the fan used at the time at whichever location your console was manufactured at hence why u weren't getting much info from search results

Sony still uses them interchangeably so its like a lottery on what you get across their models.

Nidec is the superior quieter fan whereas Delta is the inferior loud one. Even if you send your console under warranty in, Sony won't replace your Delta fan with a Nidec one so keep exchanging until u get a Nidec one. There's videos online on YouTube & Reddit on how to see what type of fan you have without voiding the warranty, tho you'll know yours has the Delta fan if its loud like a jet engine.

Gotcha, thank you. I think I'll just talk to the guy @ BB and explain to him what I'm trying to do. Surely they'll play ball. It'd be just my luck to pop the cover and replace the fan and thermal paste, then have hardware issues that require warranty support.

I'm skeptical.

I worked at office max maybe 20 years ago. When the pallet came off the trailer everything got zapped. I can't imagine target not doing that. or having not been doing that for the last 20 years.
