Just FYI, they announced the next expansion already and now will require like a yearly pass thing for future content. The next expansion is an additional fee on top of the yearly pass so I won't be buying. Why am I saying all this? They mentioned they will be releasing a version with all the content up to now including expansions at some point, I think September is.

Right?? It used to be much simpler. You bought a a whole, complete game and played it.

You're right. Early adopters always pay a premium for "early" access to games. I miss when times were simpler.

Just to hop on in here before there's a ton of hate, I still think Destiny 2 is a good game, you just need to have the correct expectations. All these people trying to play it like an MMO are crazy. It's not an MMO. I'll grant you that Bungie has attempted to position it as if you could play it constantly, but it's just not that kind of game. With the game and this expansion pass, you could easily get 50-60 hours of enjoyment. Maybe more. There's some fun campaigns in there, there's lots of side stuff to do. The multiplayer is super solid. The raids are great. The end game content is fun the first couple times. And, once you're done, you stop and go play something else until the next expansion.

Are there better values for the money? Absolutely. Stardew Valley will get you like 200 hours for $15. But this is obviously a different experience, and while I wouldn't say it's very repeatable, if you can't be satisfied with 50+ hours of content in the base game and probably 10-20 for each DLC for whatever your paying ($12 + $17 if you did humble monthly) then you're just predisposed to hating this game for whatever reason.

All that being said, if you don't have friends that play this game, it kinda blows by yourself.

If you guys got the base game for $12 from the Humble monthly bundle and now this expansion for only $18 you will have made off like a bandit. This game is fantastic. I don't understand all the hate it gets. It runs gloriously at 6k resolution for me using my GTX 1080 Ti SLI setup. Perfect SLI scaling. And they have finally fixed HDR support, it looks glorious.

Uh, no. It is NOT required. All the new "changes" coming in Sept are free. The expansion and new annual pass are separate purchases and one does not require the other. Just FYI.

Forsaken is not included in this purchase. However, if you want to play Forsaken, Bungie has stated that you must own these two expansions.

Only reason I bought this, cause I know they're just going to charge full price until the collection like the taken king comes out.
