This is old crap, and used at that. Seriously folks.

And LG's new 4K laser projector just came out this week at $2.5k.
LG's projector is not true 4k, only 2500 lumen, and uses an unorthodox design that's neither short throw nor back of the room projector. I'd wait for reviews before promoting it.

As for these being old... UHD60 came out in June 2017, UHZ65 in October.

UHZ65 is the most affordable 4k laser projector (~$4k) that performs as well as Sony's $8k laser projector. It's also rated as number #1 projector in the high end category according to Projector Central.

Ugh. So much bad advice swirling around the 'net from anonymous posters like you.

The native resolution of the UHZ65 is 2716x1528. This is faux 4K.

The only difference with the UHD65 is the light source, everything else is the same including the old TI DLP chip.
Anonymous posters... and wtf are you...

And I never claimed UHZ was true 4k, but the greater the native resolution used with shift, the less noticable it is. LG uses the same old 1080p shift.

And saying the only difference between UHZ and UHD is the light source is asinine. As if the difference between lamp and laser is not huge on lifetime, brightness and contrast...

And are both projects NOT excellently reviewed all over the web? Is UHZ NOT rated as top pj in sub-$10k category by Projector Central? So where exactly did I spread misinformation? Meanwhile, WHO called one of the top projectors on the market that came out months ago 'old crap'? Also not sure where you're seeing LG for 2.5k, I see it at $3k. Who's really spreading misinformation?

You wrote "true 4K" at first about the UHZ65, now you're walking that back. Of course.

LG street price is already $2.5k. Get a clue. And the UHD65 is OLD in this world.
No I didn't, I said LG is not true 4k.

Every website is showing it at $3k.

October is not old.

You ignored the rest of my points because you know you're wrong. The only one "walking back" is you.

Both of you are super annoying in this thread, but you did call the UHZ65 a "true 4k laser projector".

That being said, the Optomas are still using pixel shifting. It's up to the consumer to decide how much that matters to them.

So making sure people have accurate information is annoying? This is why I normally don't bother posting...

But thanks I guess for pointing out my typo... fixed.

Extremely tempting for the UHD65.
Not in a particular rush so may wait for a new one at this price.

I believe the LG is using the inferior (also old) TI 0.47" DMD vs Optoma 0.66" DMD

So that LG projector has a lower resolution chip and needs to shift 4 times vs the Optoma which only needs to shift twice to achieve the 4k resolution

It's too early to say what is better, but I would bet on the Optoma UHZ65 given it's already proven capabilities

Old? It's barely a year old and there is no 4k or faux 4k projector in this price range that provides a better picture. No 3d though and quite large of a projector.
