I was trying to find a fitness tracking smartwatch recently and came across this. I think this is by far the best (quality+features)/price for now. Using the Code DAD during check out to get 30% off (so this also works for other products)

Personally, I think it's a great product at the prices with great fitness tracking features, on watch music and GPS. Some features you can find on their website:

https://us.amazfit.com/shop/stratos
  • GPS smartwatch with 5 ATM water resistance,
  • VO2max fitness level analysis, heart rate sensor, and
  • transflective always-on color touch display with high resolution screen
  • The rugged carbon fiber design case features a polished ceramic bezel, scratch-resistant 2.5D Corning Gorilla glass,
  • an exchangeable 22mm durable silicone watch strap.
  • The watch supports detailed sports and GPS tracking for: running, walking, cycling, swimming, elliptical machine, mountaineering, trail running, triathlon, tennis, soccer and skiing.
  • Through a partnership with Firstbeat this watch also measures maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max), exercise load (TD) and recovery time. All data can be synced and made available in Strava.

After reading a lot reviews. Take home message is:
1. GPS is comparable to current products in the market
2. HR is ok as it's wrist HR monitor. So it's good for steady measurements but not with dynamic changes.
3. On watch music is good but you do need transfer mp3 to the watch yourself.
4. Always on display is great under the sunlight. But not so great with it's own backlight. Resolution is pretty good tho.
5. The battery can last you a week if you don't use it often(like fitness tracking), about 3-4 days for normal use, ~ 14-16 hours for GPS mode.
5. You can read more

anybody with experience with this?

How decent is the HR monitoring, GPS and especially battery life?

From what I read, most wrist HR monitors are kind similar. So they are good for daily tracking but not very sensitive to dynamic changes in HR. GPS is good in most cases (from the 5krunner review). The battery is about 3-4 days for normal usage.

I've owned the Versa and Stratos. For HR, the Versa seemed much much better, the Stratos had to be in the perfect spot to get accurate enough readings, otherwise varies wildly. Back to back it often could go from mid 70s or 60s to 90s. The Stratos was also much more uncomfortable with it's HR reader bump as well. I also have an Amazfit Bip, and it had about the same telling results with it's HR.

I can't comment on GPS, but there's a lot of youtube reviews that talk about it.

Battery wise, it was about 4 days without continuous HR for me, on equal footing with the Versa. However, you'll see about 2 days with continuous HR on. Stratos has an always on screen, so it's got that going for it.

I'm not sure if I can recommend the Stratos over the Versa or Ionic based on my own personal experience with the heart rate monitoring. As far as being a smartwatch, the Stratos has the edge imo with side loading the Watch Droid Assistant app, but that cuts the battery back to 3 days without it's lackluster continuous monitoring.

Battery life is amazing. I just did a slow hundred miler with it. After 20 hours of gps tracking and continuous heart rate the battery had 34%. Although it might have lasted the other 13 hours, I charged it back up with anker battery pack while still tracking gps. This watch blows away anything in the price range. If you just need gps running data and hr monitor, it's great. Just like garmin, the hr accuracy loses accuracy as pace increases, but seems very accurate when not running. Very satisfied with purchase!

The official Amazfit has 30% off all of their devices. Unless you need to track swimming, this is almost the exact same device as the Pace, which is $80 cheaper, thinner, more comfortable and lighter weight. The only downside is weaker water protection.
