Ive been doing electrical for quite a few years now and work on mainly new builds, so i get to talking with other tradesmen. I needed a finish nailer kit to do trim work in my house, so i spoke to a few carpenters and floor guys when i saw this on sale. They all said to get the porter cable set over this freeman brand. I went with their advice but freeman seems to be well reviewed.

I got the porter cable set with air canister for 200 I think. This deal - https://slickdeals.net/f/11454527-porter-cable-6-gal-150-psi-portable-electric-air-compressor-16-gauge-nailer-18-gauge-nailer-and-3-8-in-stapler-combo-kit-199?v=1&src=SiteSearch

And it goes on sale often, likely July 4th sale.

Surprised you didn't go with the 18v 16ga Ryobi finish nailer for trim work around the house. So much nicer not dragging a compressor and hose around.

I've had a couple of them (framing and 18g finish) for 3+ years and have ran thousands of nails through them with no problems. In fact I can't recall the framing nailer ever jamming. The shutoff with 3 nails left to prevent dry fire takes a little to get used to.

Not dealing with a compressor and hose sounds nice and all, but those battery powered nailers are big and heavy compared to pneumatic ones. For me, I choose air combined with a nice flexible hose.

For trim get the 18 gauge Ryobi since it is a bit lighter. I agree that not dealing with a compressor and hose is so much better.

I have a set of Freeman finishing nailers that I bought as a kit from Amazon 3 or 4 years ago and so far have not had any issues with them.

Nope, at least not without an adapter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4flCR4_-Dg

Thanks. Storing the adapter on the valve is ingenious.

What's the depth of the framing nailer from the tip to the rear of the housing? any problems getting it into 14 1/2" joist bays.

that's been $200 shipped to your home from Amazon for the last month or so. I've been watching it.

I ordered it, first tank had a small (very small) leak at the tank itself and the 16Ga nailer had a bad leak inside the body of it.

reordered it and I'll mix and match when the next order arrives to get a full set.

I've had Freeman for 5 years, a 5 piece kit & never had an issue. Not something used daily however. But well built and reliable
