I have an older version and the actual rotary tool is decent, its not hobbyist or professional grade, but if you need a rotary tool like once a year, you cant go wrong, as long as youre willing to accept that youll need some patience due to lower torque and rpm of a better brand.

As for the bits, they work, but definitely are as cheap as possible, besides the drill bits youll turn the sanding and cutting wheels into dust without finishing a tiny project.

At $17 you cant really go wrong, even if you use the thing as a hammer.

Is that really worth $6 to you? I don't know what your Wal Mart customer service line is like but mine is like a welfare line. I'd need to save at least $15 to brave it.

I got this a few weeks ago when it was on sale. Good tool for light use, but the accessories are just garbage.

Edit: I was wrong this is the premium version which is 25$ on Amazon.

This is true. But you can use most Dremel accessories.

I do recommend getting the Wen Keyless Chuck. With that, you can use practically anything with it.

I have the non premium version and everything is crap besides the tool itself and the flex shaft. I had to buy the collets made from dremel because the wen ones just plain suck. Still worth it for the price I paid though.

I bought the cordless version last year and really like it, but I wish there was a keyless chuck for it. I ordered one made by Wen, but it didn't fit. Anyone know of one that works with the cordless (2309)?

How does this compare to the Harbor Freight ones? Neither is Dremel, of course, but is this one at least marginally better than HF?
