It is a Front Page deal for the same price two months back. Some people complained about the quality of the delivery by Adorama. One guy had like 4 delivery attempts. You can look at the comments in that thread added below. I have price matched it in guitar center for the same price. I am happy with the quality of the product.

Adorama had delivered me wrong color 3 or 4 times before they admitted their process cannot know what color they send me. Had to buy from a different place.

Seems basically the same as the FP-30 with a stand and triple pedal. Same key action. Same 128 polyphony.

I bought this from Adorama last time at this price. It's a wonderful piano and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. Sounds like some people had shipping issues. I had some minor issues that Adorama fixed right away. Pretty sure those that did not have any issues are off playing their piano and not posting here.

Could you comment of these minor issues and Adorama's fix?

According to this [blogspot.com], they largely the same, but not identical.

In short, personally I would get the FP-30 with the furniture stand and pedalboard over this, but to each their own.

So the review says the FP-30 has more features.. The FP-30 also has the option of portability if you want to gig with it. I can't see why anyone would get this over the FP-30? But it is good for the consumer that Roland is allowing multiple models to be discounted.

So for anyone else debating between the FP30 and this, I'll provide my two cents. One thing that you don't get with the FP30 + furniture stand is extra shelf space with the unit. With the RP102 there is room for bookshelf speakers next to the music rest, or any other decorations you might want to put there. My plan was to always use bookshelf speakers with this so that feature was key for me. That also addresses one of the knocks on the RP102 compared to the FP30, the built in speakers. The other knock against it is the number of sounds available. However, if you use the free companion app for your iPhone or iPad, you can access hundreds of other sounds. Portability might be more important for others but that was less of an issue for me. I want this to be my home piano, I want it to look great and feel great and the RP102 does just that for me. Bonus points for this guy, it has Bluetooth so if you have any music apps you can use this as a wireless MIDI controller, and as long as your device is on the music rest the latency is essentially non existent

I got this the last time this deal came around. Couldn't be happier with it. The box was a little banged up which resulted in the music stand bracket being broken, but rather than deal with customer service (which I've heard is great, I just hate interacting with people) I opted to buy an inexpensive tabletop one and set it on the top of the piano. Works great, and I can move it to the table for when I'm playing my ukulele.

I'm one of the people who had shipping issues last time this deal came around. I'm on the third try now.

Both of the first two had a cracked/cracking keyboard cover. It's made of particle board and seems prone to damage during shipping. If you purchase this item, take the entire upper tray out (which holds the unassembled stand parts) and check the sides of the keyboard cover before unpacking the rest. This will save you a lot of pain trying to piece everything back together if you need to return it.

For those who have this piano, I read in a review that the key action may be a bit "heavy"?
Would you recommend this piano for my 6 year old to start playing? Or is there a better option?
