What is Origin Access Premier?

Origin Access Premier is a new membership tier that gives you unlimited access to the latest and greatest EA games before anyone else. Imagine paying one low monthly or annual fee and getting to play new EA PC titles before launch. Not a Play First Trial, you get access to the full game – yours to play whenever you want for as long as you're a Premier member. No gates – no barriers. That's the Premier experience.

What about current memberships?

The current tier of Origin Access will become Origin Access Basic memberships.

If you've already got Origin Access, your membership won't change unless you upgrade. You'll still get the same benefits you currently have, for the same price.

So, what's the difference between Basic and Premier?

Our Basic membership gets you:
  • the chance to try out our new games for up to ten hours, starting five days before release, with Play First Trials
  • access to The Vault, a library of games that just keeps growing all the time. Play any games that have already been added, as much as you want.
  • the 10% discount in the Origin Store on full games, pre-orders, expansions, FIFA points, and more
Premier will give you:
  • full, unlimited access to our games, starting five days before they release
    • That's right, no more limited-time trials. Play the full game starting five days before launch without purchasing it separately, until you cancel your Premier membership.
  • access to The Vault, a library of games that just keeps growing all the time.
  • the same 10% discount in the Origin Store on full games, pre-orders, expansions, FIFA points, and more

How much does Origin Access Premier cost?

When Launching later this summer, Origin Access Premier will be available for $14.99/ month or $99.99/ year.

When can I get Origin Access Premier?

Whether you already have Origin Access and want to upgrade or you're ready to join for the first time, you can get Premier when it launches this summer. Stay tuned for more details, coming soon!

Their previous (now their "basic") plan was $30 so I was hoping this would be $60.

For $100 a year, they'd have to release ~1.5 games that I'd want to play. Otherwise, I'd do it just for Battlefield + their DLC...

Wouldn't it be cheaper to by the game and season pass?

What this tells me is that EA will be holding game releases for an extra few weeks (or months), so that only their premiere subscribers will be able to play.

Holy crap, EA is slowly trying to switch to a "Software as a Service" subscription model now. I bet they got good numbers with Origin access and want to push for more.

This is a pretty good deal if you want games at launch. Already, games can cost $90 for just one game plus Season Pass.

Not necessarily because usually the base game is $60 and then the season pass is another $60 (these are based on new prices).

But since it takes about 2-3 years between Battlefield games now, that's $200-$300 if I sign up for this.

It clearly states that "premiere" will have a 5-day early access, the current subscription model already gives the same, but only for 10 hours.

Did you even read it or just assume???

Seeing how this is on PC and there's zero resale value there anyway, this is great for those that buy EA sports games day one: FIFA, Madden, NCAA, NBA, NHL, etc. $100 to get these each year seems like a steal if you enjoy sports games that are released annually. Not to mention Battlefield titles. How many still boot up Madden 15 on Origin, lol.

I could be wrong but NBA Live, NHL and NCAA are not being released on PC. This would strictly apply to Madden, FIFA and Battlefield.

Yup, looks like just FIFA and Madden as far as Sports titles go:
